Thoughts

Well, I've been reading my first novel Fractured Guardian (I know, it's had like three titles, don't judge me) and I have to say, I'm cringing a little.

I always knew that my first novel would have issues, because it is a first novel. Reading it this week with Dark Ember on the back burner now made it glaringly obvious. Maybe I don't even want to publish this thing without a MAJOR overhaul. Man.

In other news, I'm taking another seminar with Writing Workshops Dallas tonight! Blake Kimzey is going to teach it, and I haven't taken a seminar from him yet. Pretty excited! I need to figure out where I want to go next with Dark Ember.

So many options and they all have pitfalls and positives. I can see why people give up at this stage. Its exhausting!

I've got to finish world building my new novel. I'm having a serious issue getting up early without a cast of characters breathing down my neck! I feel like I have a free pass to be a little lazier which is NOT the case. Someone light a fire under my backside.

My new novel is Versailles meets True Blood. Kingly courts in a fantasy world filled with supernatural creatures, espionage, and drama led by a married couple estranged for 10 years due to pride. It's going to be a wild ride and I can't wait.

But first, I have to figure out where, how, and why this all takes place. This is the fun part.

Much to do today. Stay safe everyone!
