2k isn't bad

I've been up at 4am-ish for the last 5 days. Honestly? I feel pretty darn good. Getting up this early to expend that creative energy I won't be able to later in the day seems to keep me more even-keeled.

When I started the early wakeup practice a couple of years ago, it took me way longer to get into the swing of things. This time, I think it took only 2 or 3 days before I started to get up a little easier.

I am happy to report that the early wake up has been exceedingly productive. I've written just at 3,000 words this week which is more than I wrote in November and December combined. I mean, the damn book is now 118k words, so there will be major cutting or splitting, but man, its getting there.

The end is in sight. A new character reared its head this late in the game, but I rather like where its going. I have the ending mostly plotted out (still deciding if I need the 11th hour plot twist, we'll see.) For the most part, I'm pretty confident about how this is shaking out. I'm exceedingly happy that I am writing again. I mean, just being able to get words onto screen is a feat nowadays.

I'm still debating which book I will slate for self-publishing this year. It'll be between this monster of a stand alone novel or the labor of love that is my first novel. Either way, having TWO COMPLETED projects is something I NEVER thought I would see in my lifetime.

But, I'm doing it. I've done it. Just completing projects is something so few writers actually accomplish.

I suppose the truth is, even if they never see the light of day, I am writing the books I've always wanted to read and that is fulfilling.

A 6 figure publishing deal and a TV show at Netflix would just be gravy, right?
